Speaking before the Arsenal game, Mauricio Pochettino was asked about the future of Romelu Lukaku. The Argentine said that he could consider him for the first team after he returns to the club in the summer.
"He’s a Chelsea player, so for sure we will pay attention. It’s an option. But still we did not take any decision about Lukaku," the Chelsea boss said, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.
Poch added: "There is no point talking because he wanted to leave in the summer. He is a player who didn't want to stay. When I arrived, the club told me Romelu Lukaku wanted to leave the club. That's it.
"Now we are talking about a player who is not here. There is no point talking about someone who didn't want to stay here and isn't here."
It has been reported that the Belgian would be allowed to leave Chelsea on a permanent deal if any club bids £37m for him.
The striker has scored 19 goals and provided four assists in 42 appearances for Roma so far this season.
