In a recent chat with the a popular YouTube channel Residency, Federico Valvrde was asked how it feels after scoring a goal.
"I almost forgot," the Uruguayan responded. "It’s been a long time since I last scored. But it’s a unique feeling."
Indeed, this season has been notably quiet for the player in terms of finding the net. Unlike the last campaign, where his fireballs often hit the mark, Valverde has struggled to replicate that success.
So, when was the last time he scored?
The midfielder scored his only goal of the campaign almost seven months ago, against Real Sociedad on September 17.
The change in his role from a more advanced position to a deeper role in the midfield is likely the main reason for this. Despite the lower output, Valverde has been playing just as much as last season.
Nevertheless, we are hoping that Fede will rediscover his scoring touch next week – Real Madrid could certainly use one of his signature bangers against Manchester City.
