'Professionals shouldn't allow this': Ten Hag tears into five Man United players for conceding cheap Michael Olise goal

Man United produced some embarrassing bit of defending leading to Crystal Palace’s opening goal in the 4-0 win.

Michael Olise was allowed to waltz all the way into the final third before his well-struck shot left Andre Onana rooted to the spot and gave the hosts the lead.

Erik ten Hag voiced his annoyance at the way his players allowed that goal to happen, saying after the game: “Professionals shouldn't allow this. It was such an easy giveaway goal. Five players over the ball when they have a throw-in and it's not the first time this season.

“I know we have young players, but even young players should learn when they play in the first-team they should take responsibility.”

Ten Hag is taking aim at the likes of Kobbie Mainoo, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Christian Eriksen, Alejandro Garnacho and Mason Mount in reference to this – as all of them lost their positional sense and allowed the Palace players too much room to help them score the opening goal.

Things only went from bad to worse for Man United after that, as they conceded three more goals and are now left lying in eight place in the Premier League table with three games to go.
