It seems like Nelson Semedo decided to make Jurgen Klopp's final match an easy walk for him, as the Wolves player got a red card in the 28th minute.
He made a rough challenge on Mac Allister that definitely deserved a sent-off. Fortunately, the Argentine player was okay after this foul.
The final decision was made by the referee after the VAR check and it seems like a great thing - finally a fair VAR decision for the Reds.
Liverpool fans, though, weren't happy with this call for one reason - it looked like a decision made to pad some stats and prove that Klopp's team was treated fairly (in the game that meant nothing for table standings).
SuperHyperFunTime: "Can't wait for this red in a fucking nothing game to be used as evidence of Liverpool getting favourable decisions."
mattscazza: "Wow. VAR finally start treating us fairly on the last game of the season. Almost like they are just trying to pad the stats so we can't say they're biased against us and cost us the title race."
MTXShift: "I'm shedding tears of joy. A VAR decision has gone our way finally."
@VuyisaniLudidi: "That's a straight red if Liverpool had made that tackle... So VAR for some consistency, danko."
@fxsionftbl: "VAR giving the right decision for Liverpool on the final day of the season. Yeah PGMOL are scums."
@dharley508: "So. David Coote makes a VAR call in favour of Liverpool when it doesn’t matter a jot. I didn’t want that lad sent off there."
There were reports about removing VAR from the Premier League matches and Jurgen Klopp once said he was in favour of such a decision.
