Shaqiri and 3 more players Liverpool should just sell if we want bigger transfers than Ben Davies

As fans of the club, there are attachments to every player to pull on the Red shirt but there comes a time where even the most loved players must move on.

Liverpool have famously adopted a sell-to-buy approach under owners FSG and if the club is to make any marquee signings, then sales are absolutely necessary going forward.

Here's a look at the 4 players the Reds must sell if they want to make a serious splash in the transfer market.

Xherdan Shaqiri

Shaqiri has had an incredible Euros with Switzerland and remains one of the most dynamic and creative players in football.

However, he has also not been able to break into Liverpool's first team, even with the Reds struggling for goals. His lack of work-rate means he likely never will command a proper spot and capitalizing on his value now makes the most sense.

Shaqiri will likely fetch £15m+, which would be quite the drop in the bucket.

Marko Grujic

Perhaps it was an ill omen that he was chosen by former Reds assistant Zeljko Buvac, but Grujic's LFC career hasn't panned out like it was imagined.

Despite a few promising loan spells, the Serbian midfielder simply isn't at the level required for the Reds anymore and considering interest from various clubs, needs to be sold.

Anything over £10m would be a good price for Grujic but perhaps Edwards magic can push the number nearer to £20m.

Harry Wilson

The Welsh winger has now been having successful loan spells for the last 3 seasons and he clearly will never crack the first team under Klopp.

At 24, he has to be starting regularly somewhere and the player himself has expressed his desire to leave.

Interest from England and Portugal combined with Liverpool reportedly dropping his price to £10m should finally see Wilson sold.

Divock Origi

The hero of many brilliant moments in recent times, Divock Origi needs a change of scenery after his slump last year.

Unable to contribute from the bench also, which had been his forte, Origi is on the verge of souring an excellent legacy as a cult hero with the Reds.

The Belgian simply has to be sold and the Reds need an upgrade at striker, with Origi's likely £15m+ fee going towards it.
