After his tenure at Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo moved to Juventus in Turin, where he teamed up with Giorgio Chiellini. Recently, Chiellini shared insights about the Portuguese star during an interview on the "BSMT" podcast, shedding light on what it was like to play alongside him.
He said: "His personality in difficult moments impressed me. In the first year, he wanted to shake the world and prove he was stronger than the entire Real Madrid. We were unlucky with injuries and lost against Ajax. If we had reached the final, he would have led us to victory."
Chiellini, though, admitted that Cristiano's age caught up with him. He added: "In the following years, the level dropped a bit, and with age, he couldn't carry the team alone anymore. He was the icing on the cake, but he needed a bigger cake."
Ronaldo won several trophies with Juventus, including two Italian Serie A titles in the seasons 2018-2019 and 2019-2020, one Supercoppa Italiana in 2018, and one Coppa Italia in 2020-2021. However, he couldn't reach the highs he had in Real Madrid.
