Guardiola initiates bid to convince Kyle Walker to stay as Man City and Bayern Munich compete for his signature

Pep Guardiola is determined to keep defender Kyle Walker amid interest from Bayern Munich. Walker has been linked with a move to the Bundesliga champions as he enters the final year of his contract at Man City.

However, Guardiola doesn't want to let him go and City has offered Walker a new deal to persuade him to stay. It remains to be seen if their offer will match Bayern's contract, which extends until 2025.

Thomas Tuchel is interested in signing Walker as a replacement for Benjamin Pavard, who is expected to leave Bayern this summer.

The decision now lies with Walker, who must choose between extending his stay at City or embarking on a new challenge with Bayern. Walker joined City from Tottenham for £50 million in 2017 and has since won numerous trophies, including five Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four Carabao Cups, and the Champions League.

With 254 appearances over six seasons with City, he has been a valuable member of the squad.
