Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville were united in selecting their Best Young Player of the 2023/24 Premier League campaign.
22-year-old Cole Palmer was selected by both Sky Sports pundits following his incredible maiden season at Chelsea.
Carragher said: "When a player goes to another club we might say 'Manchester City have made a mistake' or 'Pep Guardiola shouldn't have sold him'. I actually admire Pep for that in some ways.
"Would Palmer have played ahead of Bernardo Silva and Phil Foden? He wouldn't have. It's easy to keep these players, managers don't like to be accused of making a mistake with a player or whatever
"But he's given him to Chelsea and said good luck to him. He wouldn't have expected him to do that. But I'm sick of clubs keeping hold of a player, a young player. Credit to him for wanting to play and move out of Manchester."
