Young striker on the verge, Caicedo hangs in balance: Ranking transfer probabilities of biggest Chelsea targets

The summer transfer window officially kicked off on June 14 - but Chelsea had been linked with plenty of players for weeks before that.

The Blues' main priority is to shift some of the unwanted players - preferably by June 30 - but it does not mean they are going to sit idly when it comes to arrivals. Here, we rank the biggest targets according to the highest probability of them joining.

Kylian Mbappe. The Blues were named among the clubs 'expected to register interest' in the star forward who could be on the move from PSG. It has not gone any further yet, and Real Madrid are the likeliest landing spot for Mbappe anyway.

Transfer probability: 1%

Mike Maignan. The AC Milan goalkeeper's future at his club is in doubt after a dramatic shake-up that saw club legend Paolo Maldini leave as technical director. However, moving to a team that won't be in the Champions League next season is not in his interest.

Transfer probability: 5%

Andre Onana. Inter Milan's No.1 was seen as a much more viable target - especially as Inter and Chelsea are locked in talks over Romelu Lukaku. The latest report suggests, however, that the Blues have ended their interest in the Cameroonian. There's always a chance it could be reignited closer to the end of the transfer window.

Transfer probability: 15%

Lautaro Martinez. The Inter striker is rumoured to be Mauricio Pochettino's preferred option at No.9. So far, no reports of concrete talks between the clubs have emerged yet.

Transfer probability: 25%

Romeo Lavia. The Atheltic reported that Chelsea were stepping up their interest in the Southampton midfielder. The clubs are quite far apart in their valuations of the player so far.

Transfer probability: 35%

Moises Caicedo. By all accounts, Chelsea are really serious about landing the Brighton midfielder. The demands of the Seagulls are quite outrageous, so the Blues will likely have to include a player or two in the deal.

Transfer probability: 55%

Nicolas Jackson. It looks like by far the most straightforward transfer, as Chelsea have reportedly agreed to pay a modest release clause to Villarreal and the personal terms are not an issue. The story is expected to develop next week.

Transfer probability: 95%
