According to Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal are firm in their stance of not sending Takehiro Tomiyasu on a loan move till the end of the season.
Tomiyasu has attracted interest from a series of Italian clubs like AC Milan, Napoli and AS Roma this month.
However, Romano understands Arsenal have rejected the offers and are in negotiations with Tomiyasu over a new contract.
The defender will see his current deal run out next summer but Arsenal do not intend to let him go.
Although the structure of his new contract is still being discussed, there is reportedly a sense of optimism among both parties to get it done soon.
Tomiyasu has featured in 20 appearances for Arsenal across competitions this season, chipping in with a goal in the Premier League as well.
