Jurgen Klopp takes another dig at Chris Wilder as he discusses if fans' return will help improve results

"Is having fans back important [for results]? I don't know," Jurgen Klopp said ahead of the supporters' return to the stands for the Wolves game.

"If I say having fans back helps, then Chris Wilder will say that it's not okay that Liverpool has supporters and Sheffield United does not. He has said it already. If Sheffield United would have supporters and Liverpool would not, then I cannot change that.

"Is it nice for the people to get back? Yes, it is. Very nice and I'm really happy for the people to be back in the stadium.

"Do we expect 2,000 people will push us through a difficult game and we will win because of them? No, I don't expect that. I know we have to help ourselves and then we will see what kind of atmosphere we can create together. I have no idea how it will be.

"It's just the situation that some fans are allowed and some are not. Hopefully that can change in the next few weeks and only improves for all of us and everybody can have supporters in the stadium. As long as that is not the case, we have to take it like it is."

The public spat between Klopp and Wilder is possibly one of the least expected twists of this season: the two bosses took turns to call each other 'selfish', while the Sheffield United manager also branded his colleague 'a world-class politician'.

Wilder is apparently not happy that Klopp is not calling to bring the fans back to every stadium, including the Blades' one, as passionately as he does for five subs, something the Sheffield United head coach feels does not benefit his own team.
