'I like it if he’s upset': Pep Guardiola claims to be happy with De Bruyne being visibly frustrated after substitution

In the recent Premier League match between Liverpool and Manchester City at Anfield, Kevin De Bruyne was visibly upset with Pep Guardiola.

Despite a strong start, City’s control over the game gradually diminished. They appeared vulnerable for much of the second half, leading Guardiola to make a significant change with just over 20 minutes remaining.

De Bruyne, who had been struggling to make an impact and kept losing possession, was substituted for Mateo Kovacic. The Belgian star was clearly unhappy with this decision.

He voiced his complaints to Guardiola and exchanged words with assistant coach Juanma Lillo before reluctantly taking his place on the bench.

Even after a few minutes, when Guardiola attempted to speak with him, the 32-year-old midfielder was still visibly frustrated about being taken off.

After the game, Guardiola said: "I’m happy to see that! I like it if he’s upset, it’s good. He’s happy now…I knew what we were missing, we missed keeping the ball."
