Jack Grealish reveals Guardiola's one simple tip that transformed his game

Jack Grealish has shared a game-changing tweak he made in his playing style after a chat with Pep Guardiola. Playing at Manchester City, Guardiola instructed Grealish to maintain a high and wide position on the field and focus on keeping possession without losing the ball.

This emphasis on ball retention has led Grealish to take fewer risks while playing on the wing. However, in a recent interview, Grealish unveiled some valuable advice from Guardiola that has significantly improved his game.

Grealish said to Elevate: "It's something I only actually learned in the last couple of years. Pep actually told me about this"

"If I'm getting the ball off you and I'm receiving the ball with my right foot - the right footed touch is a good touch because I'm right footed but it automatically takes me back.

"The defender can just jump onto me and I'm going back. Even though I'm not left footed, if I can go on my left it automatically takes me forward. It's so simple and something you don't really notice and when someone like Pep Guardiola tells you about it you take it onboard."

Grealish has scored three goals in 22 matches this season. However, with the arrival of Jeremy Doku, known for his skill at dribbling past defenders, Grealish no longer has a secure spot in the starting lineup like he did for most of last season.
