Fabrizio Romano: Xavi sack rumours could impact Barca transfer target – not Kimmich

Barcelona's pursuit of Guido Rodriguez is on hold following the rumours that Xavi could be sacked in the coming days.

"We have to see whether a potential exit of Xavi could impact the deal of Rodriguez since Xavi was the one to approve the deal,” Fabrizio Romano says on his Here We Go podcast.

Xavi wanted Rodriguez to replace Oriol Romeu. Now, both Romeu and Xavi could now leave at the end of the season.

Barcelona are still poised to make midfield signings with Bayern's Joshua Kimmich reportedly a top priority.

Perhaps Kimmich could be tempted to join Barca if they replace Xavi with his former coach Hansi Flick.
