Christopher Nkunku has been left out of France's 26-man squad for Euro 2024.
Speaking at a press conference, France head coach Didier Deschamps said that Nkunku was good enough for the team but not quite fully fit.
"Of course he could’ve been called, but he had a complicated season. He played some minutes recently, but it’s maybe not quite enough," Deschamps said.
"He’s healed, that’s for sure, but he hasn’t yet started a match since his return from injury. He could’ve been called up but we have a lot of attacking players."
None of other Chelsea's Frenchmen — Benoit Badiashile, Axel Disasi and Malo Gusto — have been called up, either. The biggest surprise was the return of former Blue N'Golo Kante who will be in the squad despite playing in Saudi Arabia.
