'He's a player who can deliver': Pochettino impressed with one Chelsea player's outing vs West Ham

Most of the Chelsea players struggled to impress in the 3-1 loss to West Ham United.

However, Raheem Sterling was a bright spark, as he created a number of positive attacking moves and looked really bright on the right wing.

Speaking about his thoughts on the Englishman’s display, Mauricio Pochettino said: “I don’t know if it’s a coincidence or not, but we were talking a lot this week in my office.

“We trust him. He’s a player that can deliver what we want and what we expect, and he was fantastic today. For sure, we are not happy and he is not happy because he performed but we didn’t win. But that is the way we expect a player to perform, to be bold and committed with the team.”

Sterling was a bit unlucky not to get an assist in the game despite creating quite a few chances, as he tormented Emerson to prove why Pochettino was right to start him.

The Englishman will, however, need to be sharper in the final third and improve his final output to help improve Chelsea’s goal-scoring output.
