Rice & Jesus 9: Arsenal player ratings in Brighton win

Arsenal defeated Brighton 2-0 through Jesus and Havertz goals in the second half.

Rice: 9/10. A very confident performance, won the midfield battle for Arsenal with excellent positioning and movement, winning the second balls and blocking the opposition's passing lanes. A perfect midfield shift but should have scored shortly before Havertz made it 2-0.

Jesus: 9. It felt as if Gabi left his scoring boots at home, so he dealt with it creatively: scored a header. Excellent hold-up play, dribbling and playmaking as well.

Havertz: 8.5. Great pressing and physicality but the most important thing was his calmness in front of goal to seal the win for the Gunners when things were getting tricky.

Saka: 8. An incredible performance by Bukayo, created a lot of chances today. Absolutely terrrorised Milner in the first half and kept going after the break. Unlucky to not get a goal or an assist today.

Odegaard: 7.5. A lot of creativity coming from the captain and lovely link-ups with Saka. Should have had a goal for his birthday but was too wasteful in front of goal.

Martinelli: 7.5. Wreaked havoc on the opposition through the left-hand side but his finishing could have been much better.

Nketiah: 7.5. An excellent assist for Kai. Say what you want about Eddie but he has that clutch factor about him.

White: 7. Kept Mitoma, one of the best wingers in the league, in his pocket for the large part of the game, with the exception of one episode in the second half when he allowed the Japanese through. Marking Mitoma took a tool on his involvement going forward though.

Zinchenko: 6.5. Supported attacks well but should have been better one-on-one defensively.

Others: Gabriel, Saliba 7.5, Raya 7, Trossard, Smith Rowe, Nelson, Kiwior N/A
