Mikel Arteta rued wasted chances after the game, insisting that the Gunners dominated the game and 'could have scored 5, 6, 7 goals easily'.
While he may be slightly exaggerating, Mik's point stands. Arsenal deserved to win the game judging by the stats.
The Gunners' xG (expected goals) is 3.20 compared to Fulham's 0.56. The Cottagers created just one big chance (and actually missed it — Ramsdale saved Arsenal when Traore went one-on-one against him late in the game), as contrasted to the Gunners' five big chances. Arsenal had 11 shots on goal, Fulham managed just three.
So it's safe to say that the visitors rode their luck at the Emirates. The Gunners were the better team throughout and deserved to win the game 3-0 or 3-1 — it would have been a fair result, not 2-2.
Now the onus is on Mikel to stop Arsenal from conceding silly goals and to improve their finishing.
