'He's basically Championship standard': Arsenal fans want the club to be ruthless with Rob Holding

Rob Holding has entered the last year of his contract at Arsenal and the Gunners are ready to let the defender leave the club.

While some clubs are interested in taking the 27-year-old on a season-long loan, most supporters want Arsenal to sell Holding this summer.

Holding made 24 appearances across all competitions for Mikel Arteta's side last season, mostly failing to impress the fans due to his inconsistent performances.

Sithgooner (via /r/Gunners): "If we are getting rid of him it has to be a sale — there is no point loaning a player of his age."

sfzen: "He's practically dead weight, especially if we bring in Timber. I'd be surprised if we get more than £5 million for him. We'd mostly just be getting his wages off the books."

GunnerEST2002: "He's basically Championship standard. No better than Chambers was and we got f*** all from him. I think if clubs come in for him they will low ball us."

Frubesyting: "No disrespect but a newly promoted team surely would be interested. If you need some Premier League experience, Holding ticks a lot of boxes."

MetalChombok: "No point loaning, he's better off spending the rest of his days in a decent mid-table team and getting plenty of minutes."
